Herd Sires

What is a Herd Sire?

The Herd Sire is the Buck who has made it past the Wether and meat cut.  He is the Buck who displays all the characteristics you want in your lines.  Confirmation, dairy production, health, size, personality, temperment, looks, etc...

He is your genetic marker for your goat herd.  Without a great Herd Sire you will not have great milk Does. He should come from proven dairy lines.

Unless you are just breeding to freshen your Doe, and dont really care about improving the dairy qualities in your herd... just use any old Buck. Then of course you will have Kids to think about.  Are they now for meat or pets?

Bottom line... Your herd will only be as good as your Sire. Your Herd Sire is really your future herd.

It all starts with a great Herd Sire!  We have several we are proud of...

The Bucks

Sweet little boys.
